Multimodal Trip Planning: Transit+
Here's what this article covers:
Transit+ is Transit's multimodal trip planner. It's designed to show you great transport options by combining public transport with other modes. Transit+ combines public transport with ridehail services such as Uber, Lyft, and Via.
Transit+ currently suggests trips that combine ridehail and rail (subway, commuter rail, tram). In select cities, Transit+ will also suggest trips that combine ridehail and bus.
You'll see Transit+ trips suggested below public transport options in the trip planner results:
The price listed next to each trip is the price for the ridehail portion only. It does not take into account the public transport fare.
Transit+ is still in beta. Please contact us if you see any weird results!
Requesting a ride with Transit+Ridehail
Once you have selected your trip, tap Request to order your ride directly from the trip details screen.
Note: Your ride is ordered only when you tap the Request button and confirm your pickup location.
If ridehail is the last leg of your journey, we suggest ordering your ride a few minutes before arriving at the transfer point, or once you exit public transport. If you order too early, you may be charged while the driver waits to pick you up.
You can read more about our ridehail integrations here: Ridehail
To disable Transit+, disable the ridehail mode in the options menu:
- In the top left-hand corner of the screen, tap the gear icon:
- At the top of the screen, tap the middle slider icon:
- In the Options menu, expand the Ridehail mode.
- Tap the circle next to any services you don't want to use to disable them.
Disabled services will not display in the list of nearby routes and will not be considered in the trip planner.
